ANYWAY PART OF IT
Bolte Lang Galery, Zurich, CH With Kueng Caputo and Patrick Hari
Zurich 19.01.17 - ...

Product designers Kueng Caputo and Clemence Seilles join together on a collaborative presentation in the 2 first rooms of the gallery. If craft and experimental technics in designing can characterize their respective practice, in Anyway part of it, the designers propose to overpass technical discourse and formalist outcomes. With the opportunity of an art gallery show, Kueng Caputo and Seilles want to claim freedom of expression by promoting censored musics. They are making clear that rather we can be active or passive, we are Anyway part of it, no matter what decision we take. Critical and enthusiast should dance in the same room, anyway...
In the front room, looking toward the window, a selection of their late works is arranged as a performing music set, giving a voice to censored singers looking for their audience. An empty microphone gives a hint to the ‘absent artists’. Information prints about the play list, with authors, country of origin and the reason they have been banned, mingle with speakers, acoustic panels, lightnings, room dividers and stage props,
Continuing in the second room stepping on loose floor pattern by Clemence Seilles, the tempo slower down to unfold a contemplative space, with an organised system of elements that points to silent and hidden attributes that surrounds us, often unnoticed, shadows, sound and resonance, architectural elements like corners by Kueng Caputo, reflect an inclusive vision of design with its environment.
